EXPERIMENTING WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF WEBSITES

Before investing on making a particular website, it is often a good idea to experiment with various open source platforms available. Recently, I was thinking about making my own website. But before investing any money on them, I decided to experiment with them and gain some familiarity in using them.
First of all, let me introduce different types of websites (based on these open source platforms):

  • Wordpress : It is mainly used by bloggers and it has lots of tools and plugins suitable for blogging.
  • Vanilla : It is based on discussion forums. So by installing or using Vanilla as your website platform you can have a discussion website up and running very quickly.
  • Moodle : This platform is generally utilized by universities and schools. It has course management features and plugins.
  •  Drupal : Here is how drupal.org defines its objectives -"Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. It’s built, used, and supported by an active and diverse community of people around the world".

Here are the links to some of the websites that I made while I was experimenting with them:

GOOGLE DRIVE: SOME EXPERIMENTATION

Recently I thought to learn about google drive features and functionality. So I took a course on google drive:

Although there wasn't any need to take any course to learn google drive but I was free during the time being, so I decided to watch that.

Here are the links to my activities on using Google Drive:

  • Google docs. :
            My first Google doc.

  • Presentation on google drive:
My first presentation using Google Drive!

  • A Google Drive Form:
Please click on it & submit the response!

Give it a try, if you would also like to learn about google drive (it would also be helpful if you are considering to buy google chromebook).
